Franco La Cecla
Anthropologist and Architect
Franco La Cecla is an Italian anthropologist and architect. La Cecla has taught architecture in Venice, Verona, and Palermo, as well as international institutions like the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, U.C., Berkeley and the Polytechnic of Barcelona. He currently teaches Cultural Anthropology at the NABA (Nuova Accademia Belle Arti) of Milan. He has worked as a consultant for the Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Barcelona. In 2005 he founded the Architecture Social Impact Assessment, ASIA, an agency that evaluates the social impact of architectural and city planning projects. He has written over 25 books on a wide variety of topics, from travel to gender and ethics, and his Contro l’Architettura was translated into several languages.
