THE MAIZE OS
We’ve transformed an ideal into a model, guided by
clear
principles that drive the most important processes in our organization.
Various progressive models for managing work and organizing
people
have emerged in recent years. These models aim to create more intuitive structures that align with
individual needs and desires. While promoting change is more straightforward than making it happen,
we’ve decided to take the leap by transforming our ideal of a progressive organization into a living
model, turning our collective wisdom and ambition into a reality.
Distributed Responsibility
We are a flat, deadline-driven organization.
Responsibility for every aspect of our operation is
distributed among all members. Instead of people managing people, we have people managing
projects and initiatives; there are no areas of membership but areas of expertise. The
individual is part of an ecosystem; it is essential that the individual’s decisions, actions,
and initiatives also make sense for the rest of the organization.
Leaderful
We organize ourselves by projects without a traditional
org chart.
We approach everything as a project, from the smallest task
to the largest initiative. Whether the project is internal or external, or one focused on
research and development, we always apply the same logic: maximum operational autonomy with
shared responsibility and decision-making. Setting a budget, choosing a team, and negotiating
with suppliers are all activities that must be done rapidly, avoiding the rigidity that
diminishes, slows down, or reduces effectiveness.
Knowledge
Knowledge management is achieved through collaboration.
Our most valuable resource is knowledge, which must be
nurtured, steadily managed, and shared. Our work requires us to stay up-to-date with the latest
innovations, methodologies, and technologies. But more importantly, it challenges us to evolve
our core competencies.
Capabilities
We value capabilities.
People are valued for more than just their role and the
technical skills they bring to the team. In fact, a professional is not just someone who excels
in their trade but someone who can make a difference in the organization.
SELF
Transparency
Real-time, transparent information at every
level.
To ensure autonomy and accountability, information
must be up-to-date, accessible, transparent, and visible to all. When team members share
a vision, trust each other, and have access to the same information, they are more
likely to make aligned decisions. Transparency and accessibility are key coordination
mechanisms for us.
determination
We support the growth of individuals.
When people are free to express themselves, they
achieve better results. That’s why we encourage personal growth and self-expression. We
don’t have predefined career plans. Instead, we ask individuals to envision their own
path and work towards it through periodic goals.
Transparency
Real-time, transparent information at every
level.
To ensure autonomy and accountability, information
must be up-to-date, accessible, transparent, and visible to all. When team members share
a vision, trust each other, and have access to the same information, they are more
likely to make aligned decisions.
Experimentation
We are constantly redesigning ourselves.
We are driven to explore the unknown: we protect and
cultivate an ever-changing curiosity about ourselves and new ways of seeing things. Our
market is constantly evolving, requiring continuous experimentation and improvement.
